Lauren
Lauren began teaching Yoga in 1997 after completing the Sivananda teacher training program. She later went on to study a combination of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Shadow Yoga and Iyengar Yoga. She has also been inspired by the fluidity of a Scaravelli-inspired practice and the softness of Yin Yoga. She has spent much time in India; has taught and served in a number of ashrams and Yoga centres around the world and has studied Sanskrit, Yoga philosophy and North Indian Classical music. In 2018 she returned to the Sivananda lineage to study Yoga Nidra as taught by Swami Satyananda.
Her teaching style tends to weave all of these experiences with a gentle vinyasa-flow into the spiritual fabric of Yoga. Each class is a journey within and back to Source. For Lauren, Yoga is sacred and a way of life, and she loves sharing these sacred teachings with you. She feels truly blessed to live the way she does and to be ‘doing’ what she loves.
When not leading retreats or teaching, she lives a sweet, slow and simple life with her husband and cats - growing a lot of their own food and spending time on the land communing with the ancient trees in their forest. Her greatest joy is to immerse herself in the connection between nature and silence. This is meditation. This is Yoga. This is what she loves to share with you.
